Office Communications Server 2007 provides IM (instant messaging), presence (status information such as online, busy, away, on the phone, or out to lunch), conferencing, and VoIP (voice over IP) telephony in a fully integrated, unified communications solution. This offering is the standard edition, which can support up to 5000 users.
This product includes only the license for a server running Office Communications Server. Each user or device that accesses the IM or presence capabilities of Office Communications Server must have an Office Communications Server standard user or device client access license (CAL) or be covered by a standard external connector (EC) license.After your order is processed, instructions for obtaining the license key will be sent to your organization email address

External users do not include independent contractors, agents, service providers, or other persons providing services to or on behalf of the organization holding the license.
The EC license may not be used as a means of reselling or repackaging Communications Server as a hosted service.
For web conferencing, voice over IP, and application sharing capabilities, an enterprise EC license is required. The enterprise EC license is additive and must be used in conjunction with a standard EC license.
Device CALs and user CALs are also available for internal use. A device CAL authorizes one computer to access the server, regardless of the number of users. A user CAL authorizes one user to access the server on any number of devices.
